Eventhough, the Muslim population in India is good, a quick look into the number of IAS officers reveals that only 3% IAS, 4%IPS and 1.8% IFS officers have come out from the community. Only 2.2% of Muslims are working in all the banks of India, including the Reserve Bank.
Moreover, the statistics reveal that 55.25% Hindus dwell in rented houses as against 63.65% of Muslims. 43.2% of the Hindus get the benefit of electricity facility, only 30% of Muslims receive this benefit.
According to the 2001 census, 65% of the Indians are literates. In Muslims this ratio is 59%. In India, 94% of Jains, 80% of Christians and 79%of Hindus are educated.
