Indian Higher Education institutions are not able to top the table in the International Educational institutions rank list. It is imperative to retrospect a vital issue in this matter.
For over three hundred years, western countries are following a well planned curriculum. European nations are following highly meticulously planned curriculum pattern even way beyond this time. But, whereas in India, Gurukul education system was followed in ancient times. After the British rule, Education for All system has been introduced. In a condition where both type of education system persist in India it is not appropriate to rank both with certain parameters when there is huge gap in both.
The reason is that the parameters in the international rank list are favorable to the institutions of the West. They are not framed in such a way to appraise Indian Educational Institutions.
On the other hand, now, India has got curriculum system competent enough to the western system. If you take any corporate companies or IT companies, good number of Indians is placed in vital positions. This truly shows that Indian education institutions are capable of bringing out talented persons at International Level. In the coming days, Indian Education institutions will prove its class more at the global level.
Towards this, teachers, apart from bringing out new findings through research as well as technology and just not teaching, but should excel being an excellent role model to all students.
Role of an Educational institution is not just to bring out students to seek jobs; instead, it should groom them as job providers. Institutions while imbibing essential employability skills to all the students, at the same time, should develop entrepreneurship skills in the students.
Any educational institutions can bring out a topper by providing admission to bright students. True success of an Educational institution is to bring out a topper by providing admission to those coming from Villages, Towns and from any remote part of the country or to those who are academically poor.
