- Masters with at least 60% marks at Masters or Bachelors in the subject or related field
- Uniformly good academic record

2 years consecutive teaching/research/practical training after obtaining the prescribed qualification. M.Phil degree is counted as a year''s experience |

The Candidate should be registered for Ph.D in India |
For advanced studies and research |
The candidate should complete her/his doctoral thesis before deaparture to the Federal Republic of Germany |

Others |
The candidate should
- be a staff / research fellow of Indian Institute of Technology, Agricultural, Veterinary and Forestry Universities and / or relevant universities.
- preferably have contacts with German Professors / placement at the german Institutes.
- have letters from German Scientists / Professors confirming that the proposed research could be carried out at their Institutes / letter of admission for Ph.D programme
- have sufficient knowledge about Germany
- undergo a 4 months compulsory German Language course at one of the Institutes of Germany

Baggage allowance

- Additional rent subsidy in case rented accommodation is not available within the financial limits
For scholars staying longer than 6 months
- Study and research subsidy
- Extra family allowance for married scholars who wish to call their spouses for a duration longer than 3 months
