Sharnbasveshwar College of Science functions under the aegis of Sharnbasveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangh, and was started by Poojya Doddappa Appa. Established in 1956, the College provides education to students from rural and marginalized populations. It attempts to provide relevant and job-oriented curriculum with motto of “service unto others” and developing leadership and self-discipline among its students.
The College is an urban grant-in-aid institution affiliated to Gulbarga University and has received recognition from UGC under Section 2(f) and 12B in 1968 and 1972 respectively. The College offers B.Sc. degree programme with 11 subject combinations and a Post –Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications as an evening programme.
