About the course:
General objective of the Certificate Programme is to develop an approach to integration of forest dependent communities into forest management. The specific objective is to build the bridges of understanding between foresters and forest communities. Our long-term aim is to build the mechanisms of collective action by user groups, for protecting the already existing natural forests and regenerating degraded forests. The professional certificate programme is of interest to those learners who want to understand social and cultural issues in forestry. This understanding is necessary to develop sustainable systems of forest management. The interactive nature of the Certificate in Participatory Forest Management Programme is to generate this sensitivity among all stakeholders in forest resources, and qualify the learners to improve services in the forestry sector.
