The National Institute of Siddha (NIS), located in Chennai, is a center of excellence jointly established by the Central and State Government with the objective of carrying out research and providing higher education in Siddha System of Medicine 

Introduction:

Started in September 2005 at Tambaram near Chennai, this educational institution established by the central government to promote Indian medical systems, is recognized by TN Dr.M.G.R. Medical University. This Institute follows a Syllabus and Curriculum that are in accordance with the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.

Direct Treatment:

Apart from offering higher education in the above main departments, it also provides treatment to several diseases and ailments. This educational institution is also able to provide in-depth medical education to students in various sub-disciplines found in each department.

Right from treating hair fall to issues related to women's uterus, treatment of a lot of diseases are being provided here.     

For which, a hospital functions in the same premises with both inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Admission Process: 

In order to get admission in MD course, along with B.S.M.S., need to clear the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test - AIAPGET.  To pursue Ph.D., program, need to have completed a Master's degree in the concerned discipline.
