Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institute is an autonomous institute under the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, headquartered in Bangalore.
Introduction
'Indian Plywood Manufacturers Research Association-IPMRA' was formed in 1962 as a cooperative research laboratory under the umbrella of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to carry out applied research on Plywood. The institute was renamed as 'Indian Plywood Industries Research Institute - IPIRI' in 1970.
Later, after various stages of growth, the name was changed to 'Indian Plywood Industry Research and Training Institute- IPIRTI' in 1992 to reflect its leading position in training in Mechanical Wood Industries Technology.
Campuses: Headquartered in Bengaluru, the company has centers in Kolkata and Mohali.
Trainings and Courses:
It offers short-term and one-year courses to various parties. In particular, it also provides specialized training to IFS officers.
In addition to Post Graduate Diploma Course in Wood and Panel Production Technology, it also offers research leading to award of Ph.D by Forest Research Institute (FRI) University.
Duration of Study: One year
Qualifications: B.Sc., - Any recognised degree in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Horticulture, Agriculture, B.E., B.Tech., from a recognized institute. Must not exceed 28 years as on 1st November. SC, ST, OBC, Differently- Abled category are exempted as per central government norms.
Short Term Courses:
The Institute offers one month specialized skill development training in Plywood Manufacturing Technology and short term training in various disciplines.
IPIRTI is a nodal centre for pursuing research leading to award of Ph.D by Forest Research Institute (FRI) University.
