Yoga is a tool to connect the mind and body. This practice is very helpful in the ability to focus the mind and reducing stress.

With growing awareness of yoga, courses in Yoga and related to yoga are gaining popularity.


Yoga is known as the practice of channeling the mind and the art of living based on the science of life. Originated in India by sage Patanjali, this is a practices discipline now getting support all over the world. In our country, yoga is now a lot preferred medical studies by many.  

By 2028 demand for naturopath doctors is projected to grow by 7 percent. It is also expected that the peoples liking in non allopathy medicine will grow by 25.1 percent by 2030.

Undergraduate Course: Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences - BNYS

Duration of Study: Total five and half years with one year practical training.

Qualifications: Must have secured at least 50% marks in 12th science. Should have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology as main subjects.

Syllabus: Biochemistry, Human Microbiology, Basic Pharmacology, Human Anatomy, Social Medicine, Hospital Administration, Pathology, Yoga Therapy, Human Physiology, Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Other Courses: Students who complete B.Sc., M.D., - Yoga and Naturopathy can pursue Masters course. It is also possible to pursue M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. courses in Yoga. Then can join short term courses like Advanced Certificate course in Herbal Medicine and Yoga Therapy.

Candidates who have completed any undergraduate degree can enroll in M.Sc.-Yoga course.

Job opportunity: 

Job opportunities are available like Naturopathic Doctor, Yoga Therapist, Research Assistant, Professor, Medical Assistant and Naturopathic Consultant. 

Government jobs can be obtained in research centers, national institutes, hospitals and dispensaries for health care sector. 

Self employment is also bright.
