Expelled students gain political support-

Roorkee: Student wings of
top political parties have
come out in support of the
students of IIT-Roorkee
who were recently expelled
over underperformance.
National Student’s Union of India (NSUI) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) observed a token fast and staged demonstration demanding re-absorption of the expelled students.
While the expulsion of the students by the premiere technical institutions citing poor performance came as a shocker, it is even more surprising to witness political outfits expressing support for the expelled students.
NSUI President Sachin Chaudhry, Haridwar district was quoted as saying “Playing with the future of students will not be allowed under any circumstances.” During its demonstration outside IIT gate, ABVP shouted slogans against the senate which took the decision demanding its dissolution and re-induction of the expelled students.
IIT Roorkee expelled as many as 73 students last week for scoring less than five CGPA in their second semester exams.
