Jaipur: Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy announced that a network of Skill Development Centres would come up in the country to generate trained manpower.
"Mere obtaining of educational degrees is not sufficient to secure a job, skill training along with education is a must for better jobs for youths," the Minister said while addressing a meeting of Mewar Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Bhilwara.
Skill development would be linked with employment, quoting him an official release said here.
PM Narendra Modi's plan of 'Make in India' was dependent on skill development, he said, adding that the production would certainly increase with the skilled workers.
He also stressed that skill development would be country's biggest campaign in coming years.
Local MP V P Singh said the garments worth crore was being imported from Bhilwara, and the textile industry too required skill development and marketing.
Marwar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anil Mansinghka apprised the chamber's activities, the release added.
