New Delhi: The BJP accused the AAP of indulging in "jugglery" of numbers in projecting that the Delhi government-runs schools have outperformed private schools in the CBSE 12th grade results.

Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta made the allegation during the session of the Delhi Assembly, which saw AAP MLAs lauding Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for the "achievement".

"The pass percentage being shared by the government is pure jugglery of numbers. Instead, the quality of education in Delhi government schools is deteriorating. Around 30,000 posts of teachers are lying vacant and over 1 lakh students failed to clear 9th grade last year," Gupta said.

Sisodia retorted saying unlike the BJP, the AAP did not indulge in jugglery of figures or "jumlas".

"We (AAP) believe in an educated nationalism and not their (BJP) fake nationalism. If students from poor background start getting educated in large numbers, their fake nationalism will vanish in thin air," he said.

The Delhi government schools' pass percentage was 88.27 per cent this year as against 79.27 per cent of the private schools, according to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
