CBSE advises schools- 20-Feb-2010

Font Size :

CBSE recently advised the schools attached to its board to handle students and parents with due respect and stressed schools not to harass children under the pretext of discipline.

No school under the guise of enforcing discipline should mistreat the students or their parents. Schools should understand the students and act accordingly. Discrimination based on physical appearance, social and economic background must be strictly avoided.  Schools are not factories or industries, whereas they are institutions that facilitate children to develop knowledge.

Children are highly sensitive, hence teachers need to realize the fact and act accordingly, told CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi.

Several incidents of teacher harassing student in the country have come to the notice of the board, hence this advisory note goes to all the 10,000 schools attached to the CBSE board, he said.
