Climatologists carry out researches on Global Warming and its variations. They forecast about the climatic conditions and the changes likely to arise at the local and global level. People who identify interim conditions are called Meteorologists. This is somewhat different from Climatology.
Temperature changes according to the places. Temperature and environment determine the existence of animals and vegetation. Climatology is an interesting field to conduct researches in this aspect. The climatologists, on account of long term researches, are able to envisage food grain production in a particular area, energy consumption, health condition of the inhabitants and about extinct animals.
To study Climatology, it is essential to have an undergraduate engineering degree. Those who have studied Physical Science in Postgraduation can also join this course. M.Tech. in Climate Science is available in The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Admission is made through aptitude tests, interview and marks obtained in GATE.
