UPSC - CDSE (II) 2010-

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2010 on 19th September, 2010 for admission to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy for the Courses commencing in July, 2011 and Officers Training Academy, Chennai for the Courses (Men and Women) commencing in October, 2011.

Eligibility:
A) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

i) For Indian Military Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1987and not later than 1a July, 1992 only are eligible.

ii) For Naval Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1989 (2nd July,1987 in case of NCC Naval Wing C Certificate holders) and not later than 1sl July1992 only are eligible.

iii) For Air Force Academy: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1988 and not later than 1s July, 1992 only are eligible.

iv) For Officers Training Academy (SSC Course for Men) : Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd July, 1986 and not later than 1sl July, 1992 only are eligible.

v) For Officers Training Academy SSC (Women Non-Technical Course): Unmarried women,issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible.
They should have been born not earlier than2nd July, 1986 and not later than 1sl July, 1992.

Educational Qualifications:
i) For Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy:- Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.

ii)For Naval Academy:- B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.

iii) For Air Force Academy:- Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and have yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for the Examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing the Degree Examination or equivalent examination by the specified dates published in
Commissions Notice for the Examination.

Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2010 as given in Appendix-V of
Commissions Notice for the Examination published in Employment news/Rozgar Samachar dated 17lh April, 2010.

How to Apply:
a) Candidates who wish to apply off-line must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices (specified in Appendix-Ill of
the Notice) throughout the country against cash paymentof Rs.20/- (Rupees twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSCs FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL over Telephone

b)  Candidates can also apply Online using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up on line applications are available on the above-mentioned website.

FEE:
a)Candidates applying Offline (through Common Application Form) are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only.

b)Candidates applying Online are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

c) All female candidates/SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee).

Address and Last date for receipt of Applications :
a) Through Common Applications Form

All offline applications must reach the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069″ either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 17,h May, 2010.

However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in the Notice the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is24′h May, 2010.

Through Online
The Online Applications can be filled upto 10th May, 2010 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.

Facilitation Counter and Website for Guidance of Candidates:In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSCs Facilitation Counter near gate C of its campus in person or over Telephone No.011-23385271/ 011-23381125/011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs. and 17.00 hrs.

The Commission also has a Website at address: http://www.upsc.gov.in over which the candidates can obtain details of the examination as well as information about registration of their applications, venue of the examination and results etc.
