Every year, America attracts over thousands of students aspiring to study medicine. Main reason is that top institutions providing medical study are situated here.

Statistics through research: Medicine is the first priority of study for foreign students that were revealed by a recent study, The Open Doors 2014 goes on to say that 31,954 foreign students had registered for various medical courses.   As for as America is concerned, though there are numerous medical colleges only 75 institutions offer admission to foreign students. 

According to Association of American Medical College report, in the year 2013 alone, 1500 foreign students had applied for MD studies in America.    

Duration: Common medical degrees such as Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Osteopathy are offered by Medical Colleges in America. To complete PG medical studies here, it takes about 4 years followed by 3 to 7 years of residency.    

Admission Procedures: As for as admission procedures are concerned most colleges insist students to apply through American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). However, prerequisite varies from institutions to institutions. Majority of the medical colleges in US and Canada accept scores obtained from Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and Dental Admission Test (DAT).

Average Fee amount: 50,000 to 70,000 dollars per year
