'Regional reservation injustice to Pondy students'- 5-Jul-2012
Puducherry: The Congress has criticised the 'regional reservation adopted by the AINRC government for admitting students to professional courses in government run colleges or in government sponsored institutions.
Former Education Minister K Lakshiminarayanan, MLA, said he had presented a memorandum to Lt Governor Iqbal Singh against the reservation,earmarking seats for Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, while more than 100 students in Puducherry region with higher marks were bereft of reservation
He said government should adopt reservation on the basis of the population and seats set apart accordingly in professional courses.
He said he had presented copies of the memorandum to the Chief Minister and also Chief Secretary.

its from so many decades people of karaikal are suppressed in many ways. if they say they dont want to give seats in govt colleges in pondy let the govt colleges in karaikal itself because v also deserve the same fund alloted for the union teritory. already the fund to kkl is not reaching and not spent in a healthy manner. v dont want to beg anyone for our needs, but they must not loot our share
