Tourism is defined as the activities of persons traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes. This course defines and introduces the tourism industry and its organization, examines scale and magnitude of tourism at the international, national, regional and local levels, and explores social, economic and environmental benefits and costs associated with the industry.
